The federal government has proposed long-awaited changes to the hours-of-service rules that would increase truck drivers’ flexibility while on duty. Most in the logistics industry consider trucking deregulated. For example, a truck driver has 660 minutes (11 hours) of legal driving time during his or her 14-hour “on duty” time.
