The 2018 supply chain conference season kicked off for me last week. at the SMC3 Jump Start 2018 conference in Atlanta, GA. This aligns with what the conference attendees are feeling and expecting. Trust between shippers, carriers, and consignees — as in how the data will be used — is a critical factor for success.

To reiterate that reshoring is more than just hype and a very important topic for us to consider the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) study found that 54% of companies with above one billion in revenues are now considering reshoring. In fact, since the recession, more manufacturing companies have been lost than gained in the U.S.
