Carrier Cargo Transporters has purchased property that includes a terminal in Anderson, South Carolina.
As a result of the acquisition of nearly 7 acres of land and the 10,500-square-foot building off Interstate 85 at exit 14, the Claremont, North Carolina-based carrier will add 40 driving positions to operate out of the new facility, according to a company press release.
Cargo Transporters is No. 192 on the FleetOwner 500 Top For-Hire Fleets of 2022.

"Acquisition of this property plays a key role for our growth in the Charlotte to Atlanta corridor," said John Pope, Cargo Transporters' chairman. "We are thrilled to be able to expand our presence in South Carolina."
The Anderson terminal is the company's first in South Carolina. It joins Cargo Transporters' terminals in Claremont, Charlotte, and Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The truckload dry freight carrier operates in all 48 of the continental U.S., emphasizing lanes east of the Rocky Mountains.
Cargo Transporter operates a fleet of almost 500 trucks and 1,775 trailers, employing more than 700 people overall.
