Handheld scanner provider Janam Technologies LLC said Thursday it launched an addition to its XM series of rugged mobile computers for warehouse applications in barcode scanning and wireless communication.
The XM75 features a keypad and touch screen in the same device and is designed for data-input-intensive applications in transportation, logistics, route accounting, direct store delivery, and field service, according to Woodbury, N.Y.-based Janam.
The combination of a smartphone-like design and support of touchscreen or keypad interfaces makes the XM75 versatile enough to serve in many industrial applications, Janam Technologies CEO Harry B. Lerner said in a statement.
The product supports Google Inc.'s Android operating system and offers wireless connectivity through 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, global positioning system (GPS), and Bluetooth, supporting voice and data applications, the company said. Janam also offers an optional trigger handle accessory for convenience in scan-intensive environments.
