Transplace announces plans to open up Northwest Arkansas-based operations center

Non asset-based third-party logistics services provider Transplace said this week it plans to build a new Rogers, Ark.-based operations center, with a focus on supporting company growth and technology investment to meet its customers’ supply chain needs.

Transplace officials said that this state-of-the-art center, called the Transplace Center of Excellence, will spur the company’s plans to add several hundred employees in the coming years, as well as augment its technology and logistics services offerings.

Transplace CEO Frank McGuigan told LM that there are various drivers for this new facility.

“Transplace has experienced tremendous growth in recent years,” he said. “To support this growth and position us to meet the needs of our expanding customer base, it’s important for us to continue to invest in our infrastructure, human capital and technology systems. Building this new operations center will help enable further growth and deliver greater value to our customers.”

And he added that the new state-of-the-art center will support the comprehensive suite of transportation management, strategic capacity, and cross-border & global trade services that Transplace provides its customers, including helping Transplace further develop and leverage innovative technologies such as AI, machine learning and more.

This new facility will benefit Transplace employees, as they will have a place where they can collaborate to create better individual shipper solutions as well as cross-customer network solutions, explained McGuigan.

As for shippers, he said that this new location, which is in a growing logistics hub, will enable shippers to better manage their logistics operations, provide outstanding services to their customers and positively impact their financial outcomes.

Transplace held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new location this week, with construction set to begin immediately and the company expected to move in by early 2021.
