The national average price per gallon for diesel gasoline was up again this week, according to data issued by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
With $0.03-cent increase, the national diesel price now stands at $3.271 per gallon.
This marks the fifth straight week of gains, following respective increase of 1 cent, 0.6 cents, 0.26 cents, and 1.9 cents over the previous four weeks.
On an annual basis, the average price per gallon is up 48.3 cents.
West Texas Intermediate Crude oil is currently trading at $70.04 on the New York Mercantile Exchange, which is ahead of last week’s average of $68.71.
The EIA’s Short-Term Energy Outlook pegs the average prices for diesel to be $3.15 and $3.11 in 2018 and 2019, respectively, with WTI a $66.21 and $64.34 for the same period.
