The national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline fell for the seventh time in the last eight weeks, according to data issued this week by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration.
With a 0.001-cent decline, the national diesel average now stands at $3.042 per gallon, following a 2.7-cent decline last week from $3.070 to $3.043 per gallon.
This week also marked the 20th consecutive week that the national diesel average has topped the $3 per gallon mark.
On an annual basis, this week’s average is down 19.4 cents.
West Texas Intermediate Crude oil is currently trading at $56.94 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
