Cloud Logistics moves up in Gartner’s TMS Magic Quadrant ratings

In its recently-released report on TMS, Gartner analysts noted that compared to the previous year, Cloud Logistics improved its position on the ability to execute “axis and completeness of vision axis.”

The Gartner Magic Quadrant has recently recognized Cloud Logistics by E2Open (Cloud Logistics) for its progress in implementing its transportation management systems (TMS) for logistics managers.

In its recently-released report on TMS, Gartner analysts noted that compared to the previous year, Cloud Logistics improved its position on the ability to execute “axis and completeness of vision axis.”

The Gartner Magic Quadrant is research based on expert analysis. Gartner Peer Insights is content based on customer reviews. Cloud Logistics is rated on 4.7 out of 5 stars on the Gartner Peer Insights review website for the TMS market, based on 10 reviews released late last month.

As noted by Logistics Management, E2open acquired Cloud Logistics on September 17, 2018 and quickly integrated “TMS Made Easy” into “Logistics Visibility” during the first 10 days. E2open then acquired INTTRA in November of 2018, connecting over 60 ocean carriers and 30,000 shippers to the E2open Logistics Visibility service. .

Cloud Logistics is in the process of integrating parcel and complex Rail Rule 11 functionality in 2019 to complete the footprint for shippers in the Fortune 250 client base.

Mark Nix, senior vice president of transportation and founder of Cloud Logistics, told LM in an interview that both companies have multiple divisions that use the system for carrier assignment optimization, match-pay, and KPI reporting to improve their operations.

“With these optimization features, they’re able to “do more with the same” – making each logistics professional much more productive than when they are operating manually,” he added.

According to Nix, The Logistics Activity Stream functionality gives shippers real-time updates on the status of shipments that need additional attention. This solution was built on social media technology and is very intuitive for users across the company that need real-time shipment visibility.

“They have converted from a completely manual operation to a cutting edge solution from Cloud Logistics,” said Nix. “It’s important to note that the implementation time for the solution was less time that their evaluation timeline. Both went from spreadsheet + phone/email communications to a completely automated process that compares carrier contracted rates, selects the best carrier, tenders and tracks each load, and matches the electronic carrier invoice to the agreed upon contracted rate saving lots of unnecessary manual effort.”

Nix concluded that both have been live for 2+ years and have seen significant process improvement while reducing their freight spend by at least 5% per year.
