Freight transportation and logistics services provider Schneider and Blue Yonder (formerly JDA), a provider of AI-driven and end-to-end supply chain management services, recently announced they are teaming up on a new carrier marketplace offering that will run within Blue Yonder’s TMS (transportation management system) platform, entitled Luminate.
The companies said that this new offering, which will function as a dynamic capacity pricing offering, offers up what they called an integrated and seamless experience for shippers that meshes dynamic pricing and visibility with the myriad resources within the Schneider brokerage portfolio, led by its brokerage division.
“We are driven to constantly innovate and provide better experiences for our customers,” a Schneider spokesperson told LM. “This collaboration fits in perfectly with the work we are doing to provide more digital, automated opportunities for shippers to connect with Schneider. Giving shippers immediate access to pricing and data is critically important in moving our industry forward.”
The Schneider spokesperson provided various benefits of this collaboration with BlueYonder for shippers, including:
“All of these things combined allow our customers to further optimize their supply chain and stay ahead of market trends,” the Schneider spokesperson said.“As two industry leaders, we are working together to provide a comprehensive, seamless shipping experience. From delivering instant price, data and the ability to execute freight, this will change the game for our customers.”
Schneider has collaborated with Blue Yonder for many years in the past, when Blue Yonder was still known as JDA. The Schneider spokesperson said that many of the customer’s shippers are on the Blue Yonder platform, adding that a lot of the work the companies have done together has focused on supporting customers, with this collaboration presenting a way for Schneider to formalize that work and push it even further.
“We’re always looking for ways to yield ongoing ROI improvements for shippers through real-time visibility and automation,” said Terry Norton, vice president of 3PL Business Unit at Blue Yonder, in a statement. “Collaborating with Schneider provides them with a best-in-class solution built on our Luminate Platform that leverages innovative technology with a transportation provider who can deliver dynamic pricing options along with needed capacity.”
