The national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline finished 2019 with a slight increase, according to data recently issued by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
With a 2.8-cent increase, the national average price per gallon, for the week of December 30, came in at $3.069. This followed a 0.005-cent decline from the week of December 16, at $3.046, to the week of December 23, at $3.041.
That decline was preceded by a 0.003-cent decline, from December 9 to December 16, a 2.1-cent decline the week of December 9, and a 0.004-cent increase for the week ending December 2 to $3.070 per gallon.
On an annual basis, this week’s average is up 2.8 cents.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil is currently trading at $61.13 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
