October ’22 Team Member Spotlight: Rav Takhar

Envase employee spotlight Rav Takhar

Get to know this month’s Envase Team Member Spotlight: Rav Takhar, Director of Engineering at Envase Technologies. Don’t forget to check out our previous team member spotlight to learn more about the interesting people who make up the Envase team!

How long have you worked at Envase? What is your job & favorite part of it?

I have been working at Envase for 9.5 years! I am the Director of Engineering for the TMS team and my favorite part is definitely the people I work with. Being able to develop a product from scratch and continue to work with the same people throughout the years is definitely a great indication of success. There is no better feeling than releasing a feature that has a meaningful business impact for our customers.

What is your favorite sport or team?

Being born in Vancouver it is hard to go against the Vancouver Canucks, but I watch a lot of sports.

a.    NBA – Miami Heat / Toronto Raptors
b.    NFL – New England Patriots
c.    NHL – Vancouver Canucks
d.    UFC – Conor McGregor

** Please take note that MLB was not mentioned

Name one Envase member you would take on a road trip, where and why?

Hard to pick one person because we all complement each other, but I’d love to go on a road trip down to Oregon/California with the entire Vancouver team and watch some NBA/NFL games!

If you could eliminate one thing from your daily routine, what would it be and why?

Definitely sleep! I hated sleeping growing up and I hate it now. I’m always thinking and I tend to just brainstorm through the night. If I could eliminate sleep then I’d have an additional 6-7 hours to be productive.

What is a strong belief you have?

You only have a backup plan if you plan to fail. Always push through the downs because giving up will hurt a lot more.

What is your favorite food cuisine and name of your favorite dish?

100% Italian – Authentic Pizza

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

The ability to control time (slow, stop, rewind and speed up time)

If you could be the character in a tv show, what character would you want to be?

I think I’d want to be Sam Witwicky because I name all of my projects after transformers. Tailwind’s codename is/was Optimus and the Envase TMS codename is Optimus Primal.

Plus, he dated Megan Foxx

My bumblebee would end up being a yellow Lexus LFA / LC500

One thing about you that no one knows at Envase

–    I got rejected from Tailwind the first time I applied, applied again the same day and got the job
–    I was a competitive Counter Strike player growing up
