Above the Fold: Supply Chain Logistics News (June 24, 2022)

‘Tis the season for graduations.

My oldest daughter graduated from college last month. My youngest daughter will graduate from 8th grade this morning, which means I better get going.

So, without pomp and circumstance, here’s the supply chain and logistics news that caught my attention this week:

I commented earlier this week about the FourKites and FedEx news in “There’s No Supply Chain Visibility Silver Bullet.”

Regarding the news, as reported by the Wall Street Journal, that “The European Parliament approved legislation to tax imports based on the greenhouse gases emitted to make them,” we asked members of our Indago supply chain research community last June — who are all supply chain and logistics executives from manufacturing, retail, and distribution companies — “How difficult would it be to accurately calculate the carbon emissions of your imported goods?” Check out “The Difficulty Of Measuring Scope 3 Emissions” for some insights from the research.

And with that, I’m out of time. Have a happy weekend!
