Fatal ship fire leaves Nissan vehicles stranded

Around 3,500 Nissan vehicles are currently adrift in the Pacific Ocean between Japan and Hawaii following a fire aboard the Sincerity Ace car carrier operated by Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL). The cause of the fire, which broke out on Monday January 31, is still unknown but it took the lives of four crew members, with another one still unaccounted for. The search for that person was called off on Wednesday last week.
