RAIL REJECTION | Rail workers reject the proposed contract terms from the freight railroads.

It’s back to the negotiating table for the rail industry. 

The Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division (BMWED) members rejected the contract terms from the freight railroads this week. 

If the two sides can not agree, approximately 26,000m workers who build and maintain the US tracks, bridges, buildings, and other structures will go on strike on November 14.

Farewell to falling diesel gas prices…

Diesel shot up 34 cents this week, bringing the national average to $5.224 a gallon. 

Before this week, diesel prices had five weeks of declining prices, according to the Energy Information Administration. 

Prior to the increase, gas prices had fallen to $4.836 a gallon.  Find out what the gas prices are in your area here.


CAPACITY CHANGES | Could capacity be tightening as peak season approaches?

The most recent Jobs Report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed 11,400 employees left the trucking industry in September. 

This is not great news for the supply chain as we approach peak season.

These are the reasons women earn their CDL and become commercial truck drivers. 

Previously, only 2-3% of truckers were women.

Women now represent 7.8% of commercial truck drivers as they look for careers that give them opportunities to see the country and make money.
