The service is provided by the port in partnership with EV Connect, a provider of charge-management solutions for electric vehicles. October truck tonnage readings are mixed, reports ATA

The ATA’s advanced Seasonally Adjusted (SA) For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index, for October, came in at 116.3 (2015=100), down 2.3% compared to September’s 119.1, which was upwardly revised from an original reading of 118.8. The October SA reading rose 2.8% annually, marking its 14th consecutive annual monthly gain, albeit its smallest gain going back to April.

IANA data points to declining volume in October

Total October volume—at 1,552,029 units—was down 0.8% annually. Trailers—at 68,747—fell 30.1%, for the steepest decline, and topping September’s 28.6% annual decline. Domestic containers—at 700,512—were down 0.9%. And all domestic equipment, which is comprised of trailers and domestic containers, fell 4.4%, to 769,259. ISO, or international containers, were the lone segment to see an annual gain, rising 3.2%, to 752,770.
