New research form Internet Retailing shows that the number of Top 500 European retailers offering next-day delivery rose by 50% last year. This means that 24% of the Top 500 retailers in the EEA now offer next-day deliveries. The UK remains significantly ahead, with 45% of retailers surveyed currently offering the service, but France and the Netherlands are also making significant progress as both saw the figure rise from 6 to 16%.

A new announcement for strategic cooperation on the Asia – US East Coast trade routes was recently made by the Maersk Line , Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) and ZIM. The Maersk Line currently operates five loops while ZIM operates two loops. In early September 2018 both Maersk and MSC will contribute four of their operated loops to a total operation of five loops with ZIM between Asia and the East Coast of the US.

Volga-Dnepr Group subsidiary, AirBridgeCargo one of the world’s leading air cargo carriers recently transported 66 baby giraffes from South Africa’s O. R. Tambo International Airport to Zhengzhou, China, via the ABC cargo hub at Moscow Sheremetyevo, using one of their Boeing 747 freighters. The baby giraffes weighing a total of 38 tonnes were destined for several animal parks in the Zhengzhou region.
