Kerry Neysmith – Onboarding Director

1.) Tell us a little about the responsibilities of your position.

In the Client Experience (CX) side of the organization, I have the privilege of leading several teams, which include Client Onboarding, Client Experience Data Analytics, and Client Experience Training and Quality.

2.) What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I enjoy most about my job is the opportunity to mentor team members and develop their individual career growth. I also love partnering with various tiers of clients to seamlessly transition their fulfillment services to ShipMonk. These two aspects of my job are very impactful and rewarding.

3.) Did you always want to work in this kind of role? What led you to be here?

Yes, I have always desired to have a client-facing role and to help clients start up their fulfillment operations. I came to ShipMonk for this specific role as it fits my superpowers.

4.) What is it like working for ShipMonk?

Working for ShipMonk is fun, fast-paced, satisfying, and exciting! The company has grown at a rapid pace and has provided lots of opportunities to expand my career and knowledge base at America’s fastest-growing third-party logistics provider (3PL) for DTC, B2B, and retail fulfillment across all verticals.

5.) What is a favorite quote from an awesome woman you admire?

“There is a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.” – Madeleine Albright

6.) If you could give advice to “you” 10 years ago, what would it be?

I would advise myself that you don’t have to “check every box” to be ready for the next opportunity or challenge.

7.) Outside of work, where else do you dedicate your time and passion?

I love doing HIT (High-Intensity Training), hot yoga, reading, cooking, and spending time at the beach.

Stephanie Biehn – Client Experience Manager

1.) Tell us a little about the responsibilities of your position.

I oversee a team of CX (Client Experience) Account Managers. I support my team to ensure that we build fruitful and long-term relationships with all of our Subscription partners. My team works specifically with Subscription Box merchants that fulfill out of our FL and CA warehouses. My team helps coordinate the fulfillment of subscription and regular orders for their accounts; this involves a lot of thorough planning and communication.

2.) What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy developing my team to advance their skillset and utilize communication tactics to manage their accounts more effectively. It is rewarding to see an account happier, and to see the account manager feel accomplished from building a relationship that led to a happier merchant.

3.) Did you always want to work in this kind of role? What led you to be here?

I previously worked in a hospitatlity management role. I have always loved managing and leading people. I found ShipMonk when I moved to Florida, and I was attracted to the name of the role “Happiness Engineer” – I wanted to help drive Happiness, and so applied eagerly.

4.) What is it like working for ShipMonk?

ShipMonk has an ever-evolving environment; you have to be ready to embrace change and be excited at the possibilities that change can bring. I love to see changes for the better, and it is motivating to be a part of that growth.

5.) What is a favorite quote from an awesome woman you admire?

“Feedback is the Breakfast of Champions” this quote is originally from a book The One Minute Manager by Ken Blanchard, but the quote was shared with me by one of my previous female managers and it has always stuck with me. Giving feedback shows that you are invested and interested in the advancement of others, and receiving feedback allows you to gain perspective and self-awareness to improve and grow.

6.) If you could give advice to “you” 10 years ago, what would it be?

If I could give advice to myself 10 years ago, it would be to read more, and don’t hesitate to ask more questions. Seek out mentorship from those that you admire, and learn from them. Things will not simply be handed to you, but you might be surprised what comes when you aren’t afraid to ask.

7.) Outside of work, where else do you dedicate your time and passion?

Outside of work, I dedicate my energy to spend quality time with my partner and our dog, doing things like going to the beach, roller blading, cooking together, and traveling to new areas. I enjoy attending yoga and workout classes regularly to stay active and healthy, and I enjoy doing pottery and reading for fun.

Laura Vallejo – Senior Onboarding Associate

1.) Tell us a little about the responsibilities of your position.

I have the honor to work with clients during their Onboarding journey. I teach them how to use the ShipMonk App, assist them with receiving inventory, SKU creation, etc. Basically, everything they need to successfully launch their business with ShipMonk.

2.) What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy showing the ShipMonk App to clients the most. I get a rush of pride every time I show the app and its features to someone.

3.) Did you always want to work in this kind of role? What led you to be here?

I didn’t. However, I am a natural teacher. I love to teach new things and, having learned the ins and outs of ShipMonk as a Happiness Engineer, I wanted to use my knowledge and skills to help new clients successfully set up and launch with our services.

4.) What is it like working for ShipMonk?

It is fun and challenging in a good way. I learn something new every day.

5.) What is a favorite quote from an awesome woman you admire?

“I really think a champion is defined not by their wins but by how they can recover when they fall.” — Serena Williams

6.) If you could give advice to “you” 10 years ago, what would it be?

Believe in the potential others see in you. Take that chance.

7.) Outside of work, where else do you dedicate your time and passion?

Family! My husband and my niece and nephew, and Crossfit.
