CMA CGM Invest in Climate Controlled Facility at DP World Logistics Park

Maritime Transport Company CMA CGM has announced a major new investment to build an all-purpose climate controlled warehouse facility at the DP World London Gateway Logistics Park. The company have taken a long-term lease on the land, work on the facility will begin later this year with a projected completion date of summer 2019. The company through one of their logistics solutions subsidiaries will occupy a cold storage facility located near the River Thames.

Emirates SkyCargo Receives AEO Certification

Emirates SkyCargo was recently awarded membership for the UAE Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program. The Federal Customs Authority of the UAE government awarded this new certification after carrying out a detailed validation process with the Dubai Customs authorities. The AEO program is aimed at increasing efficiency while strengthening the security of the supply chain when transporting goods across borders.

Eagle GO Guaranteed Service Expanded by APL to 29 Asian Ports

APL recently announced an upgrade to their Eagle Go. Guaranteed Service, extending the service to 29 Asian ports which are visited by 22 North America-destined services operated by APL. The service began in October last year with four ports of origin in the Asian countries of Vietnam and China, this guarantee for ocean freight ensures equipment and vessel space is readily available for shipping on the Trans-Pacific routes.

Turkish Airlines have awarded Worldwide Flight Services the freighter-handling contract at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas.

The logistics facility will be developed on 197 acres with an investment of around $125m. It will feature 2.3 million ft² of space with transload, cross-dock, high cube and trailer storage facilities.
