Freight Benchmarking: What Is It? Why Do It?

The answer is to benchmark your freight, of course. The benefit of this is that you’ll be in a more proactive state when unforeseen events or crises arise with minimal warning. It will also make it easier to determine, for example, if you should opt for contract rates over spot rates or vice versa.
