UEFA organizes competitions such as the Europa League or the Conference League that captivate viewers all over the world. However, as a viewer, you just have to turn on the TV, relax and enjoy the games, but behind every match, there’s a seamless flow of events that requires meticulous planning and intricate logistics.

Their preparation start well advanced of the group stage campaigns. They gather all the materials needed for the whole season, they transport it into a warehouse located in Belgium. From there, they distribute everything with the help of fleet of 40 trucks. From stadium branding and press conference backboards, to VAR essential components and LED controller boards.

Once the materials arrive in the venue (stadiums), UEFA operations and broadcast managers take charge. Their goal is to allign the products delivered at each venue with the standards set for others venues hosting matches on the same night, meeting UEFA’s requirements and satisfying partners.

The logistical challenges that UEFA’s challenge are big. Transporting materials across big distances from country to country, requires careful coordination and considerations such as customs procedures, road conditions, etc. UEFA’s managers always have a contingency plan, in case conditions are not the expected ones. Two spare emergency trailers are parked in Belgium, ready to hit the road at a moment’s notice, ensuring that missing or damaged materials can be swiftly replaced. The team also ensures that every team, every match, and every broadcaster receives the same high standard service.
