1. How will the weather impact your logistics this week?

The Canadian Government made history with the invocation of the Emergencies Act, in which protesters could have their trucks towed, bank accounts frozen, insurance suspended, and apply terrorist financing rules to crowdfunding companies. For those blocking infrastructure, the government has threatened up to $100K fine, up to 1 year in jail, and seizure of licenses. Read more here.

4. FMCSA has removed a Houston-based carrier, 4 Life Transport Corporation, from the roads.

The FMCSA regulators declared that the Houston-based motor carrier 4 Life Transport Corporation is an “egregiously non-compliant” company. After one of its drivers crashed and died this month, the FMCSA placed the company out of service, declared an “imminent hazard,” and must cease all interstate/intrastate operations. The FMCSA cited many reasons for their ruling in this article.

5. Where are the highest and lowest diesel prices in the US this week?

The national average for diesel prices has topped $4 per gallon. Diesel prices have climbed 40.6 cents since the beginning of 2022 and don’t show any signs of decreasing. The most expensive diesel in the nation is found in California at $4.994 per gallon, with the cheapest diesel being found in the Gulf Coast region at $3.69 per gallon.
