Like a chameleon changes its appearance to hide in plain sight, less-than-reputable carriers try to conceal previous violations and penalties.
How? By re-organizing their old company under a new name.
Despite the FMCSA’s efforts, chameleon carriers caused accidents that killed 217 people and injured 3,500 people from 2005 to 2010.

Given that these changes have real impacts on carriers and insurance premiums, the new PECVL updates will not begin until Jan 1 in Quebec.
