Transportation in the Pacific Northwest will be slow as another 1 to 2 feet of snow will cover the mountain passes, and rain downpours in the valleys will flood roads.
The Southeast has a weather system dumping rain on the highways, slowing down travel.

Which states have the toughest enforcement and fines?
If you drive in snowy conditions, you are well aware of the need for chains, cables, spikes-spiders, retractable studded tires, etc., to stay on the road… and not end up in a ditch or, worse, a wreck. Chain laws vary from state to state, with some states being much tougher than others on enforcement.
Specifics about the chain laws vary from enforcement periods, equipment types, and the all too familiar… fines. In some states, drivers can be fined as much as $1000 in addition to any other penalties they racked up if they cause a wreck or block a road.

Lockdown in China will hurt shippers more than Suez canal blockage.
Approximately 17 million residents in Shenzhen, China, are required to stay home until Sunday… which means even though vessels are coming into the port, there isn’t anyone there to unload the ships.
If there isn’t anyone at the port, trade comes to a standstill. “The disruptive impact on cargo flows was roughly twice the size of the blockage of the Suez Canal,” said Analyst Lars Jensen of Vespucci Maritime when referencing the Yantian shutdown last year.

Diesel prices top $6 per gallon.
It’s no secret that gas prices are high right now… but these prices are setting new records.
The EIA’s weekly survey showed diesel prices rose everywhere, with California topping the list at $6.264 per gallon.
Prior to this week, the highest price recorded for a gallon of diesel was $4.764 in July of 2008.
