CargoForwarder has an interesting story on Lufthansa, which is apparently considering folding its currently independent cargo arm into the passenger business. As noted by consultant Stan Wraight in the article, the success of this will depend on how it is done. It feels instinctively like a retrograde step,  but Mr Wraight argues that if both units retain their own divisional heads with full responsibility, and if cargo is acknowledged as a core business, it could work. But he warns against cargo becoming a subdivision. It’s worth a read.

The Loadstar asked Lufthansa about the decision, reportedly to be made today or tomorrow, but was told that the carrier would not comment on speculation.
