Less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. said today it has opened 3 service centers, relocated 2 more and remodeled a sixth as part of a systemwide expansion that gives the Thomasville, N.C.-based company 233 service centers in all.
The new facilities are in Birdsboro, Pa., about 50 miles west of Philadelphia; Knoxville, Tenn., and Anaheim, Calif. The two relocations are in Milton, Vt. and Abilene, Tex., markets where Old Dominion already had a presence. Old Dominion's existing center in Commerce City, Colo. will be renovated and the company will remain there.
Old Dominion said it plans additional service openings in the fourth quarter. It said it is re-assessing the logistics landscape before making any commitments for 2019.
