Marangoni Tread North America announces plant expansion to meet growing demand

Dec. 27, 2018
Being made in the USA and distributed from a central location give the company a competitive advantage against others who are importing products into the U.S.

Bill Sweatman, president and CEO of Marangoni Tread North America plant expansion has begun at the Tennessee tread manufacturing plant.

“With unit sales up this year, production had to be increased right away. Independent retreaders’ business remains strong and we expect demand to continue to increase as we move into 2019. We will be adding additional capacity to manufacture the XP Extreme Performance wide base Ringtread here in the U.S.,” said Sweatman.

The Ringtread XP Extreme Performance line exceeds the benefits of the Ringtread system by combining two superior technologies:

  • The RINGTREAD technology, splice less, precure and double contour profile.
  • MARANGONI engineering, innovative compounds and original design.

The new production line, expected to be in production in the 2nd Quarter of 2019 will produce Ringtread’s up to and including 500mm widths.

“Our primary goal, every day, is to provide our customers with the best in class products at the time they need them,” said vice president operations Chanthavy Vongsamphanh. “This expansion will allow us to optimize our already successful demand driven inventory system and we will be expanding our workforce by 10%, thus creating more American jobs.”
