Weber Logistics has recently established new pool distribution hub operations in Kent and Vancouver, WA to deliver candy, snack and other food products to retail distribution centers throughout the Pacific Northwest. This new operation fills the hole left by United Warehousing’s exit from the market in the region.

Weber Logistics is the only truly time-defined, temperature-controlled LTL carrier in the West. Its pool distribution operation receives products from confectionery and other food suppliers, both refrigerated and dry, from points South, East, and West (imports) and consistently delivers them on-time.

These products are consolidated with others that have similar temperature requirements and are heading to the same destinations. The resulting economies of scale helps create a solution that is the most economical and service sensitive in the region.

Weber builds daily loads destined for regional distribution centers and retail stores. High shipment volumes require frequent and often standing appointments, all driven by strict adherence to RAD (requested arrival dates). Refrigerated tractor-trailers and straight trucks transport the products to grocery, big box, institutional, and storefront locations throughout Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Western Idaho.

Weber’s confectionery and snack operations comply with all Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) requirements, as well as specific product and retailer requirements.

While Weber’s pool distribution services are new to the Pacific Northwest, they are not a new service offering for the company. Weber Logistics has long provided time-defined pool distribution and confectionery transportation services throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, and Hawaii, where it also a leader in high-velocity warehousing, transportation, and drayage services.

According to Weber Logistics Chief Operating Officer, Bob Lilja, “The Pacific Northwest is a natural geographic extension for Weber’s core confectionery and food distribution service. We believe that our high service standards and economies of scale are the best in the region, and we are happy to demonstrate that to the most demanding clients.”
