1. Both US & CA to require proof of full COVID-19 required to cross the border.

Starting on January 15, Canada and the US will require truck drivers crossing the border to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. This announcement was in response to the proposed mandate from the US government requiring all Canadian cross-border truck drivers to be vaccinated. What impact will this have on the supply chain? 2. Hackers target supply chain businesses, particularly smaller businesses.

Lack of cyber security could drain millions from your profit margin… in the form of ransom fees, credit monitoring, and/or multi-million dollar settlements. Hackers usually find their way to larger companies through their subcontractors that don’t tend to invest as much in cyber security or… they think we are too small to be hacked. Are there stats to back up these claims? Absolutely, read about what happened to one company here.

3. Ports could see a major increase in stolen goods before and after Thanksgiving holiday.

Like a scene from the beginning of “Goodfellas”, thieves are looking to target shipping containers and tractor-trailers this week… but what specifically are they eyeing? TVs. Major appliances. Consumer electronics. Alcoholic beverages. Pharmaceuticals. Firearms. Designer Apparel. Metals. Seafood. All ripe for the taking. Which areas of the US are criminals looking to target? Find out here.

4. See the top 6 supply chain pain points and the take-a-ways.

COVID-19, cyber security, port congestion, driver shortage, global warming events, and chip shortages have all played a huge part in slowing down or stopping the worldwide supply chain. The 2021 FM Global Resilience Index delved into the data… found the pain points… and then divulged their take-a-ways on the data. So… exactly how have each of these pain points impacted the supply chain and what is the data telling us? Read more here.

5. 3G soon to be obsolete which will impact ELD’s that operate on the old network.

The FMCSA reminds drivers to upgrade their equipment now as the major cellular providers will be discontinuing their 3G service in 2022. If the ELD’s are not 5G compatible they could fail to meet the minimum requirements established by the ELD Technical Specifications and end up with possible hours-of-service violations. When are mobile carriers going to shut down their 3G services? Click here to find out.
