The world is coming back online more and more each day with people returning to normal activities of dining out and otherwise enjoying life in public. However, a return to normal services is adding stress to supply chains that haven’t yet recovered from the pandemic.

On this episode of Great Quarter, Guys, Andrew Cox dissects those stressors with guest host and FreightWaves Lead Economist Anthony Smith.

The two explore the sudden surge of food- and restaurant-related products as most COVID restrictions have now been lifted and what that means for potential shortages in the restaurant industry. They also look at how forecast orders for the next seven days will not provide any relief to the stretched-thin system.

Cox and Smith welcome Daniel Hackett, partner at Hackett Associates, to discuss the situation in the ports and how the outlook remains the same: dismal.
