Logistics BusinessFleet Service Provider Advises on Extended Toll in Germany

From 1 July 2018, the toll for vehicles from 7.5 tonnes will be extended to all federal roads in Germany. DKV recommends that customers who require new toll boxes at the start of the extended toll in Germany should register well in advance and use the operator’s Toll Collect Box. On-board units from Toll Collect that are already in use are also valid for the extended toll in Germany and do not have to be exchanged.

“The security of supply of services to our customers is our number 1 priority,” says Gertjan Breij, Managing Director DKV EURO SERVICE Benelux. “With effect from 1 July 2018, only the on-board unit of the toll operator Toll Collect will be capable of officially invoicing the extended toll in Germany. Cross-border EETS-compliant toll boxes such as the DKV BOX EUROPE are currently only at the start of the registration process and this will definitely not be concluded in time for 1 July 2018. Because every EETS provider receives the same information from Toll Collect, this situation applies equally to all providers.”
