Load board service operator Truckstop.com said today that it has acquired Grizella LLC, a provider of software for the freight transportation industry, in a move to expand Truckstop.com's suite of products, the company said.
New Plymouth, Idaho-based Truckstop.com offers online freight matching and load board solutions. Adding Grizella's products to that portfolio will expand the range of products available to its customers, Truckstop.com CEO Paris Cole said in a statement.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The deal closed on July 3, and the Grizella business will continue to operate from its offices in North Dakota, according to Truckstop.com.
Grizella, which is based in Hebron, N.D., makes the SaferWatch carrier monitoring and research tool and the PostEverywhere load-posting and truck-posting service for freight brokers, logistics providers, intermediaries, freight-forwarders, shippers, and carriers.
By merging with Truckstop.com, the firm will gain leverage to continue developing its products, Grizella President Mark Draeb said in a statement. "We'll now have an even deeper well of resources to draw from to enhance our suite of solutions. The more information people have, the better business is for everyone in the freight transportation industry," Draeb said.
Truckstop.com has been adding features and integrations to its platform in recent months, including the integration of its software with transportation management system (TMS) platforms such as TMW and MercuryGate International Inc., and the announcement that it would share contract and spot rate data with the supply chain consultancy Chainalytics.
